We are committed to helping others know God. This is why theology matters! What we believe about who God is, is important. The more we know of God, the more we will grow in awe, gratitude, and affection toward Him. Because of this, we take sound doctrine and Biblical theology seriously. We believe that Reformed Theology most accurately expresses the truths taught in Scripture. Grace Bible Church is theologically Reformed Baptist. In short, this simply means that we are not making it up as we go along, but rather are drawing from the centuries of Christianity that have gone before us, including both their successes and their pitfalls. We hold to a historic faith that has been passed down to us, not a new worldview we have made up ourselves. For us, this more specifically means holding to much of the Biblical truth that was recovered during the time of the Reformation. Ultimately, that is what we are after — Biblical Truth.

Because God’s Word is truth, we are committed to expository preaching. This is a particular style in which we preach the Word. In expository preaching, we go line by line, verse by verse, chapter by chapter through books of the Bible. We simply walk through God’s Word and let it inform us of what we must teach. This helps us to address everything that God does. And it helps us not to shy away from hard topics, or skip passages that may be more difficult. It equips the believer with the full counsel of God, which is necessary for effective discipleship. Ultimately, if the Word is our highest authority, we ought to simply preach it unapologetically.

We believe that although the local Church plays a role in the discipling of children, it holds a supplementary role. The primary means of discipleship and teaching in the life of a child is through their parents. We believe the Bible teaches that families are not to turn their kids over to the Church for teaching, but rather shepherd their children from their home, as the local Church comes alongside them. Because of this, we believe an essential part of the discipleship of children is ‘Family Integrated Worship’. This simply means that our families are encouraged to worship together throughout the whole worship service, as both parents and children. Children seeing their parents model for them how to worship, sing, pray, hear the Word, learn, and respond is vitally important in the child’s growth and maturation in the faith.

We are committed to being a praying church. Both corporately and individually, we will seek the Lord in fervent and continuous prayer. Prayer is one of believers’ most important and effective ways of seeking and fellowshipping with God, and it is absolutely necessary to be conformed to Christ and His will.

We are committed to the discipleship of believers. Our desire is to come alongside disciples and help them to mature in their faith and knowledge of God so that they can experience God and be satisfied in Him. This is part of Christ’s Great Commission to us, that we would teach disciples all that God has commanded. Because of this, we are more concerned with the depth of the believers that God has entrusted to us than we are concerned about the amount of people that walk through our doors. We believe every Christian is called to not only be disciples, but to eventually make other disciples. We aim to make disciple-making disciples.

We are committed to living life on mission. As those who have received God’s grace and salvation, it is our desire to see the lost come to know Christ and receive the same grace that we have. We must have a deep burden for those who do not know Christ, and a real desire to see them saved. Because of this, we live constantly on zealous mission. This means evangelizing by bringing the Gospel with boldness to those around us in need of it. This means helping to plant other churches. This means helping to fill practical needs in our community and around the world. This means unapologetically proclaiming Christ crucified and risen every opportunity we get. It is God who saves, but it His people and the Gospel they proclaim that God uses as the means by which he draws people to himself.

We believe followers of Christ were not intended to live in isolation. We were created for community and dependence on one another. Because of that, we covenant together in regenerate Church Membership. When we join into fellowship with one another we make a real commitment and promise to serve, love, encourage, comfort, support, protect, help, exhort, build up, worship alongside, and pray for one another as we all steer each other ever closer towards Christ. And we hold each other accountable to that promise. This requires love for one another, patience, humble servanthood, and mutual submission to Christ. Ultimately, we are a family, all meaningful parts with a role to play, we are not merely attendees. Because of this, we are committed to hands on Pastoral care. You will be welcomed, known, valued, and cherished. You are not just a number or a face in the crowd, but rather you will be a vital part of the Church God is building.

We were created to glorify God by worshipping Him. One of the many ways we express worship is through music. When we sing as a church, it is not a staged or manufactured performance, curated to accomplish a desired response. But rather it is simply the genuine, authentic, and natural response to God’s grace, and the outpouring of our gratitude and awe for who God is and what He has done. We are also called to worship in both Spirit and in Truth. Because of this, we sing deep truths about God and the Gospel to remind us of His magnificence and so rejoice in Him as we respond in praise, thanksgiving, and adoration.
